Continuing Education Requirements
Continuing education in cardiology allows the cardiologist to learn more and be more exposed to more things. Every 10 years, cardiologists are required to renew their license. Along with renewing their license they must also submit a statement which proves their active practice with at least 150 percutaneous coronary interventional, or PCI, patients at least two years before their license expires. On top of that, they have to demonstrate participation in some PCI quality programs.
